How We Got The Bible describes the struggles and sacrifices of many individuals throughout history who tried to make the Bible available to their people. Author Lenet H. Read traces the formation of the Bible from Adam until the last writings of John the Beloved, then tells of the efforts of Jerome, Wycliffe, Tyndale, and others to translate the word of God into new languages. She finishes by discussing the Joseph Smith Translation, latter-day revelation and the Bible, and the 1979 Latter-day Saint edition of the King James Version.
