Russian Princess Marina Scherbatoff Polvay (1928-2002), escaped from Stalin's Russia in 1952 and became a nuturalised American citizen in 1955. She became a noted food writer and consultant. This is her famous take on the food of Transylvania and Romania. I particularly liked her recipe for 'Black Forest Cake Nosferatu', 'Rumanian Omelette went down very well for supper, along with 'Transylvanian Chicken Stew' and 'Sorcerer's Chestnut Dessert' (yum!), although we drew the line at 'Garlic Vodka'! A fun and rare cookbook. Seller Inventory # 011062
