A field editor of the Journal of Transpersonal Psychology, he has studied Buddhist psychology and meditation for many years.

Daniel P. Brown is director of training in psychiatry at Central Hospital in Somerville, Massachusetts, and teaches at Harvard Medical School and Simmons College School of Social Work. He has conducted extensive scientific research on meditation.
