Synopsis
The human biological sciences were all abuzz in the 1970's and 1980's with their new research into the human body and brain. THE NEW FRONTIER was called out as being "the brain." The one essential question being asked? "WHO ARE WE as a species?"
One of the ways in for scientists of all stripes was to look at any differences that might exist in body and brain between human males and females.
This book was the first book ever written for the layperson that chronicles this time, and clicks into the radically new research findings of subtle and not-so-subtle psychobiological and immunological differences between the sexes, findings which perceive the sexes as subtly and not-so-subtly different and also complementary -- not unlike what we find elsewhere in nature. It explores the relationship between the human brain and sexuality, the roots and causes of male and female sexual behavior, abilities, pleasures, and skills and discusses the nature of gender. What an amazing time it was to be in a highly creative and exciting mix of scientific researchers from around the globe. These women and men kept on being gobsmacked by what they were finding out about sex, the brain, the body, and they kept on trading research results as they delighted in piecing together a whole picture of us as a species, one which used sex as a way to reproduce, one which was certainly of nature, not separate and distinct. About the Author
Jo Durden-Smith was a well-known British documentary film maker and a writer for numerous international magazines, and an author of many well received books. Diane de Simone is a writer and facilitator. She's the author of "Dear Thailand: A Love Story" (2014), "Reconciliation ~ Heaven and Earth ~ "(2018), and "...stepping lightly through times of great change (2018)." She currently lives between Tucson, Arizona and Thailand.
