Gilmer refines the definition and includes plans and plant lists for making a backyard pet memorial, an urban oasis, an AIDS memorial and a celestial garden. The book includes many generous asides that range from directions on how to make rose petal rosary beads to a guide to garden flowers for the church. The experienced gardener will appreciate the plant lists that give common and botanical names and planting zones. Beginning gardeners may be intimidated by the plant lists and lack of horticultural information.
