Brewer, author of several pregnancy manuals, guides the reader through all the physical aspects and health concerns encountered in pregnancy and during labor by providing sensible information through an effective question-and-answer format. The strong emphasis on the "Brewer Diet" somewhat overpowers this otherwise useful guide, but even with the priority given nutrition, there are good sections on stress management and proper exercise. In addition, the concept of "Cooperative Childbirth" permeates the text nicely. Kimberly Megginson, VA Medical Ctr. Lib., Fayetteville, Ark.
