Synopsis

The readind and reciting of cowboy poetry has become a cultural phenomenon in the West, and it's spreading like wildfire across the country. Most western states hold their own "gatherings" each year, where ranching men and women recite poems written about their way of life. Don't be surprised if you find your eyes welling up when you read about losing the ranch, about a granddad's legacy to his grandson, or about putting down a favorite horse. Sandwiched between the heartbreaks are humorous stories that'll put a little chuckle in your grin: it's the laughter that keeps these folkes going when times are tough, when winter blizzards threaten their herds and cut them off from their friends. We recommend you gather a few of your friends around a living room campfire and recite some poems out loud.
