About the Author

Ralph Kylloe received his Ed.D. from Boston University and has taught at the university level for many years, but his enthusiasm for rustic furniture has led him away from the academic life to a career as a writer and lecturer on the subject. A dealer in antique and contemporary rustic furniture and decorative accessories, he has developed a considerable following as a design consultant on rustic style. His collection of rustic materials has been exhibited in New York and Boston, and his gallery at Lake George, in New York's Adirondacks (and at ralphkylloe.com), attracts visitors all year long. Among the author's books are Rustic Traditions, Fishing Camps, Rustic Furniture Makers, Rustic Garden Architecture, and Rustic Style.

From the Inside Flap

Rustic antiques have dramatically gained popularity during the past decade. Today, collectors are conscious of the natural elements inherent in camp and cabin settings and are seeking rustic accessories such as old skis, antler chandeliers, rustic furniture, and many other items to fill their homes and rustic settings.

Cabin Collectibles offers a broad overview of antique cabin collectibles, including specific information on items often used to decorate rustic settings--fishing creels, Adirondack pack baskets, fishing nets, snowshoes, skis and poles, camp photos, canoe paddles, birch-bark collectibles, cottage furnishings, and camp signs.

Filled with richly styled photographs accompanied by buyer's information--including makers, dates, forms and styles, regions, and advice on what to look for when collecting--it is a must-have for any cabin enthusiast.
