About the Author
Jeff Hecht has covered the laser field since 1974, and is a contributing editor to Laser Focus World. He was managing editor of Laser Focus and a cofounder and contributing editor to Lasers & Applications (now Lasers & Optronics). His other books include Laser Pioneers, Understanding Fiber Optics, the Laser Guidebook, and City of Light: The Story of Fiber Optics.
