About the Author
Brigadier "Birdie" Smith DSO served with the Brigade of Gurkhas in WWII and went on to command the 1/2nd King Edward s Own Gurkha Rifles in Borneo, Brunei and Hong Kong. This is the full, unique, and fully illustrated story of Nepalese service in the British Army, which includes the award of 13 Victoria Crosses.

This book about the valour is a very powerful and almost complete stories about the tales of gurkhas. The valour states all the 10 gurkha regiments and tell the events of everyone of them in the theatre of war.When i got down to read it i was so enthralled by the heroic tales and bravery of these courageous men that i skip my lunch and dinner. I was keen to finish the book and to look for the next title on gurkhas. It' s an excellent book overall. A must read for all those interested in military. --By Dilip Rai
