The purpose of this "nohara", or commentary, is to throw light on obscure passages in Bible translations, to correct the words which have been mistranslated, and thus to recover the lost meaning of the verses; to explain biblical idioms, metaphors, allegories, customs, and manners which in their ancient context are difficult and unfamiliar to Western minds, but simple for the Easterners to understand. After all, the Old Testament was written first in Semitic languages, for Semitic people, centuries before Greek, Latin, and the present European languages were born. The New Testament was written for the descendants of the same people. And the authors of this sacred literature wre moved by the Holy Spirit. They lived in a world of unseen realities.
