User-friendly technical book on how to use a personal database system that's no longer being sold.
The good part is that I got a $10,000 advance before writing a single word. Makes me feel like the BIG names to have been invited by a publisher to write a book.
Reason: I was the supervisor of Microrim's technical writing department. I won seven Society of Technical Communication awards for excellence in technical documentation. I was a technical writer from 1971 to 2005. Yeah, that's a lot of years. I pioneered in the personal computer industry in 1977. I have in my possession a manual for using a word processing system before there was such a thing as a PC. Before Apple! Before IBM decided to produce a PC.
What it shows is that I can write. I've written several thousand PAGES of documentation. I've made hundreds of thousands of dollars for my writing. How many writers can say that?
I call myself a success no matter what happens in my new job writing fiction.
