About the Author

Besides working, keeping and caring for horses since childhood, author Jessie Haas has written many popular children's books including her sixth book about horses for

young riders, Safe Horse Safe Rider. Jan Dawson, fellow Storey author of Teaching Safe Horsemanship and Executive Vice President of the Horsemanship Safety Association, contributed a foreword to this book as well. Jessie lives in Vermont with her husband, Michael, and her Morgan horse, River Echo Atherton.
