In Mr. Whitetail's Trailing the Hunter’s Moon: An Adventure Journal, native Texan Larry Weishuhn ("Mr. Whitetail") has described taking trophy whitetail deer in regions as diverse as the windswept prairies of Saskatawan, the arid hill country of northern Mexico and the woodlands and gravel hills of his native Texas. The author recounts his experiences pursuing whitetails in Texas, brown bear in Canada, red stage in New Zealand, kudu in South Africa, moose north of the Arctic Circle, elk in British Columbia, giant red stage in Austria, and roe deer- Robin Hood’s favorite quarry- in England.
