A Friendly Mathematics Competition tells the story of the Indiana College Mathematics Competition (ICMC) by presenting the problems, solutions, and results of the first 35 years of the ICMC. About the Author

Rixk Fillman received his PhD from Idaho State University. He has taught mathematics at Valparaiso for the past seventeen years. A combinatorialist by training, he has published papers on a variety of topics, but his real interest is in helping undergraduates become mathematicians. He mentors student research teams almost every year, resulting in some publications and many students going on to be successful in pure and applied mathematics.
