Argues that little has been done to correct the problems that caused the 1987 stock market crash, and discusses what changes are necessary

The authors do an excellent job of dispelling the myths and misconceptions surrounding the October 1987 crash, as well as providing an inside look at the fragile foundation of information and trust that supports the stock market. The discussion in this book is nicely positioned between the longer technical studies and the shorter jounalistic treatments in periodicals that dominate the literature about the crash. Arbel was a consultant to the Brady Commission and the author of a study of that group's findings published in The Harvard Business Review -- Ed. The narrative is very well done and tightly focused on the main story. Highly recommended, especially for libraries serving the general reader.
