Synopsis

We call Kaua'i an unconquerable island because of this sense of timelessness in the land and its people and, above all, because of the powerful nature of its Hawaiianness. For both those who live here and those who come to visit, this island offers the unforgettable mix of an exciting present and a treasured past.

About the Author

Ruth Tabrah has lived in, loved, and been writing books about the Hawaiian Islands since 1956. Hiking the trails of Koke'e and Waimea Canyon, swimming ashore to remote beaches of NaPali Coast, and exploring the byways of Kaua'i's back country are experiences she shares in writing this book about the Garden Island. Over the years, Ruth has twice visited Ni'ihau, the Forbidden Island. At present she resides in Honolulu.
