Reviews

Pritchett, a former vice president of Procter & Gamble, offers a combination of autobiography and sage advice on "management, salesmanship, and building better relations among individuals." Having spent his entire 36-year career at Procter & Gamble, he provides numerous insights into the operation of that mammoth corporation. He retired in 1989 and since has given about one speech per week to business audiences. This book reads like a compilation of talks and ideas about managing corporations in the future. As might be expected, it is inspiring, folksy, and laced with numerous personal tidbits. Though offering nothing new or profound, it is entertaining and similiar in some ways to his good friend Sam Walton's Sam Walton: Made in America; My Story (LJ 8/92) and should appeal to the same readership. Recommended for larger business collections.
