Synopsis

At last the TRUTH about Sherlock Holmes! He is exposed in this shocking unauthorized biography by investigative reporter Austin Mitchelson as a mentally unstable monster, manipulating society, murdering without conscience, blackmailing the weak and vulnerable, perverting the course of justice, and destroying the evidence of his own and other crimes. And for the first time the shattering secret of the TRUE identity of JACK THE RIPPER and Holmes own connection with the Whitechapel murders is revealed. This meticulously-researched, authoritative book looks into the dark recesses behind the legend of Sherlock Holmes and uncovers the dreadful events of his unhappy childhood which led him into a sordid scandal at university and finally to a life of ruthless brutality. This is a book which will horrify those who have formed a picture of Sherlock Holmes as honest, upright, honorable and incorruptible, the very epitome of Victorian values. Mitchelson gives the lie to this by drawing on the published accounts of Holmes cases and on historical events and fact. The truth, he is able to prove, was very different...
