The most complete study of the Colt New Service Revolver ever published. A well-researched, entertaining and profusely illustrated guide to every aspect of this handgun. The Colt New Service was manufactured from 1898 through 1943 in a number of commercial and military models, with both standard and Target versions offered in on the civilian models. A total of over 356,000 were produced. There were eleven standard chamberings, and experimental models were made in .22 rimfire, .22 Hornet, and .41 Special. These handguns were also available in fancy engraved versions. There are 165 distinct models/versions depicted in this volume including some that are quite rare.
