She specializes in the area of collaboration: teaching adults to work together in teams to create effective school programs for students with learning and behavior challenges. She is author of several books on this topic and related topics. With her colleagues, Ann Nevin and Phyllis Paolucci-Whitcomb, she developed the Collaborative Consultation Model, which is popular in special education in America.
I wrote this paperback book as an easy-to-use, practical book for adults who are interested in improving the ways in which they work with other adults, as well as in helping students who have learning and behavor challenges. I have worked with many educators in the United States, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand and much of the contents of this book can be attributed to those experiences in staff development.
