Reviews

Natural Learning Rhythms takes a unique view of how young people learn. The Luvmours, both developmental psychologists who hold workshops on their specialty, describe four stages of youth from ages 5 to 22: Body-Being, Emotional-Being, Will-Being, and Reasoning-Being. A chapter explains each stage, and sections follow on communication, remedies---to "restore balance"--for problems, and rites of passage. The Luvmours challenge a number of what they feel to be myths about raising kids, such as that rewards and punishments work and that a child's personality is developed before birth. An "alternative" book that contains workable solutions any interested parent could implement. Jo Peer-Haas
