There is no magic formula for victory in Christ, but there are many biblical principles for spiritual warfare that will result in triumph for the committed Christian. Some of these are faith, obedience, courage, and the setting of right priorities. These principles are found in the experiences of the people of Israel in the Old Testament as they left Egypt to settle eventually in the Promised Land. Their exploits, including both their successes and failures, have been recorded in Scripture so that men of succeeding generations might have a pattern of godly living on which to base their lives. There is no magic formula, but Christians today can prevail and live victoriously by following the directions given in the Word of God. LeRoy states, "We must depend on God to give us direction, for the ways God chooses to bring us to victory may vary greatly."
