Reviews

YA-- Numerous illustrations with clear, concise explanations show the elements and principles of design and a good layout. Specifics include what is visually appealing and stylish, with examples supplied from newsletters, posters, brochures, etc. Siebert identifies the questions the designer must answer before executing a good layout; thus, readers learn what are conscious decisions and not accidents of fate. Exercises provide practice, and the conclusions of each chapter offer excellent summaries for review. The table of contents also serves as an outline and a glossary. Don't let this helpful book get hidden on the shelves--give it to anyone struggling to publish a newsletter.
