Softcover. Softcover, 4to size, 8.5x11" A full pictorial history of the festival players, and the show history, from the 1950s on. The players, order of performance, and crowd enthusiasms are all covered, and there are many pictures of the stage action, up till 1972 when times changed and concert hall performers found that area more lucrative, and the quality of the festival talent diminished, to a point that it was no longer viable to continue the gatherings in Monterey. This book tells the story of the whole arc of Jazz in Monterey, and in greater detail than is available elsewhere. A fairly scarce history, preserved by the news staff of the Examiner, and contributing writers who reported on the concerts thru the years. Very good condition (no dust jacket). First edition, stated (A California Living book). Seller Inventory # 3149
