Reviews

Another in the publisher's "definitions" series lampooning specific sports, this title will make golfing aficionados chuckle. Beard defines "Driving Range" as "a place where golfers go to get all the good shots out of their systems." A "Hole-in-One" is "an occurrence in which a ball is hit directly from the tee into the hole on a single shot by a golfer playing alone." And the "Fairway" is "a narrow strip of mown grass that separates two groups of golfers looking for lost balls in the rough." McKie's drawings provide an energetic accompaniment to the text.
