Sahelian, the author of numerous titles on nutrients, herbs, and hormones, and Toews (The Green Tea Book) outline ways to boost the immune system in order to prevent cold and flu viruses from landing in the respiratory tract. They discuss the use of vitamin C, zinc, and echinacea in great detail and a number of other possible herbal treatments to a lesser degree, and they also explain what to do if a virus does get through. An extensive list of references shows evidence of research being done in the field and gives the reader sources of additional information. Sahelian and Toews propose a reasonable approach to prevention and treatment, making this an excellent complement to Charles B. Inlander and Cynthia K.
