Also included are the recipients' major publications, summary statements of why the Nobel Prize was awarded, and citations of biographical books and articles. Indexes by name, nationality, religious affiliation, and educational institution supplement the biographies. The Schlessingers have done an excellent job of editing the work of 177 contributors.
