About the Author:
Barbara Griffel, known for her fashion illustration said she uses Artist's & Graphic Designer's Market as one of her strategies to sell her work. She believes that marketing your work has to be a constant effort. According to Griffel, "You've got to keep moving - like a shark. If you send out 50 samples, and you only get one response, you can't dwell on the ones that didn't respond. One response is great! That one client may end up giving you a lot of work." Griffel also does something unique with all the samples she sends out. Each one includes her signature in bold black strokes along with a tag line. "When you think of any successful corporation or product a distinct image comes to mind. They always keep the same set of color and the same logo - and they usually have a tag line." It works for corporate America and the same strategy can work for you, says Griffel.
