About the Author
Philip R. Woodhouse was led to the Monte Cristo region by his avocations of photography and mountain travel. Then his engineering education and training prompted him to research the history of the mines and railroad. For nearly two decades Woodhouse immersed himself in the story he likely knows more about Monte Cristo than did many who lived the story he tells.
