One of 101 titles in the St. Joseph Picture Book Series, this book by popular Father Lawrence G. Lovasik S.V.D., provides children with simple explanations of the feast associated with Jesus. Catholic feasts celebrating Jesus help us remember and honor the special moments in His life. Each feast is like a joyful reminder of Jesus’s love for us and God’s great plan.

One of the biggest feasts is Christmas, which celebrates Jesus’s birth. On this day, we remember that God sent His Son to Earth as a baby to save us. It is a time of happiness, gift-giving, and love, because Jesus is the best gift from God.

Easter is another very important feast, celebrating Jesus’ resurrection from the dead. After dying on the cross, Jesus rose on Easter Sunday, showing that love is stronger than death. This gives us hope that we, too, can have eternal life with Him.

Good Friday remembers the day Jesus died on the cross for our sins. While it is a sad day, it also reminds us how much Jesus loves us, giving up His life for us. We honor this by being quiet, praying, and thanking Jesus for His sacrifice.

Other feasts include the Feast of the Transfiguration, when Jesus’ divine glory shone brightly on a mountain, showing His disciples who He really was, and The Feast of Christ the King, celebrating Jesus as the King of the Universe.

Each feast brings us closer to Jesus and reminds us of His love and all He did for us. By celebrating these special days, we learn more about His life and become closer to Him in our hearts.
