One of 101 titles in the St. Joseph Picture Book Series, this book by popular author Father Lovasik, S.V.D., teaches children the importance of the apparition of Mary at Fatima. Our Lady of Fatima is a special title for Mary, the mother of Jesus, who appeared to three shepherd children in Fatima, Portugal, in 1917. The children, named Lucia, Jacinta, and Francisco, were simple and humble, showing that Mary chooses to speak to people of all ages and backgrounds. She appeared to them six times, bringing messages of peace, prayer, and love.
Mary asked the children to pray the Rosary every day, especially for peace in the world and for those who need God’s love. She also asked them to offer small sacrifices for the forgiveness of sins, showing us that even small acts of kindness and love can make a big difference.
Our Lady of Fatima reminds us of the importance of prayer, especially the Rosary, as a way to grow closer to Jesus and Mary. She teaches us to trust in God’s plan and to always try to bring peace and love to others.
On October 13, 1917, thousands of people saw a miraculous event called the Miracle of the Sun, which confirmed Mary’s presence and message. This event reminds us that God’s love is real and powerful.
The story of Our Lady of Fatima encourages children to pray, trust in God, and share His love with others. It shows us that Mary cares for everyone and is always ready to guide us closer to her Son, Jesus.
