Friers Country: A Collection of Cartoons by Rowel Friers as Published in the Farming Life Supplement of the News Letter - Softcover
Synopsis
This is a book of cartoons drawn by artist Rowel Frier as published in the Farming Life supplement of the News Letter with observations by Louis Malcolm - 'The Roamer'. The humorous cartoons focus on farming, country life, and life in general in Ulster (Northern Ireland). It reminds me of a Far Side cartoon book in terms of style, though the humor has a much more narrowly focused subject matter and themes, and those familiar with life in Ulster will likely find the most humor in it's contents, though that is not to say that anyone would not enjoy it, as the illustrations are funny in general, without any background or knowledge of Ulster whatsoever.
