From the preface: The idea for a continuing series of synopsis on pig reproduction arose from informal discussions during the University of Nottingham Easter School on the Control of Pig Reproduction in 1981. The benefits of having an opportunity to interest both socially and scientifically with those who share a common interest in the study of pig reproduction were clear. The comments of those who reviewed or purchased the published proceedings of that meeting also suggested that a periodic up-dating of such a review of research on pig reproduction would be welcomed.
