Sub-titled "The Anatomy of an Anti-Environmental PR Campaign" is an "expose" of a controversial public relations campaign of the late 1990s, in which Government interests and PR worked to discredit environmental groups intent on protecting large areas of native forest on the West Coast of the South Island from exploitation. The logging company involved was a State-Owned enterprise and its PR connections were active in changing attitudes, which nationally largely opposed native forest felling. The book details and documents the various tactics adopted to bring this change about. Nicky Harger has written about controversial high level political issues in NZ in a number of hard-hitting books. His co-author in this "public interest" work is a prominant Australian environmemntal journalist.
