In their new country they became synonomous with Catholic education, providing nuns to staff convent schools, mainly in central and lower North Island areas, but particularly at Wanganui. The book contains much of interest about the order and its other good works and also as a social history regarding the important changes taking pace in the Catholic Church in the latter part of the 20th Century. A scarce book. First edition of 2001, 331 pages including five appendices (one listing members of the order from 1880 to 2000 by religious name, family name, birthplace, date of entry, death or dispensation of vows), bibliography, index, b/w photos throughout, several maps.
