THE HAKKA SEARCH FOR A HOMELAND is the first work by Professor Kiang on the history of the ethnic Hakka people and their migration from China. The author traces the origins of the Hakka from their northern Manchurian beginnings and their loyalties to various Chinese rulers and their migration to other parts of the world. He lists prominent Hakka leaders in the world today. At the writing, several Hakka were leaders of countries.
