Synopsis
James Blish (writing as "William Atheling") was one of the earliest critics to treat science fiction as a genre worthy of being reviewed as thoughtfully and seriously as any other branch of literature. This volume is a sequel to Blish's "The Issue at Hand," and it collects science fiction reviews written between 1957 and 1970. Where the earlier volume was largely focused on short stories and novels that had appeared in SF magazines, this collection contains a higher proportion of book reviews.

This book is in very good condition, marred only by a former owner's name in ink on its front pastedown, plus slight spine lean, and a light bump on the base of its spine. Its binding is sound, with no spine crease. Covers are otherwise unmarked and unworn, with bright gilt titles on its spine. Pages are unmarked and unworn. Its dust jacket, now protected by a removable mylar cover, is unmarked and also in very good condition, marred only by a price-clipped front flap, traces of wear on the bottom of its spine and flap folds, plus some light toning along its top edge, spine, and flap folds, but otherwise bright, whole, and unworn. I will ship this book in a moisture proof zip-loc bag, padded in bubble cushion, inside a sturdy box to assure it reaches its new owner in the same condition as my description.
