The purpose of this Guide is to teach a systematic method for addressing questions about brain damage that are frequently asked of clinicians. Chapter 1 gives a brief rationale for the use of hte Halstead-Reitan Battery. In Chapter 2 the tests of the battery are described. Chapter 3 is the heart of the Guide. In it the methods of interpretation are described. The next four chapters present a number of hypotheses regarding brain-behavior relationships pertinent to the data derived from the battery. Chapters 8, 9, and 10 take the reader beyond the specific methods by answering questions about brain damage solely from the data of the Battery. Finally Chapter 11 presents illustrations of the use of the method with clinical cases.
