An illustrated history, and a good one, of the Denver, South Park & Pacific and the gold and silver mining history, all with a fabulous collection of period photographs including many by William Henry Jackson, and a few modern color photos. Folded facsimile map of Denver, ca. 1880, in pocket at rear; front endpaper is a birds eye view of Leadville . This is the first of a three volume series. A clean, bright copy with no sign of wear. Publisher's acetate jacket fully intact but lightly rubbed.
