Grade 3-6?This book contains more than 50 activities grouped by type, e.g., "Around the House," "Creative Play," "Fun & Games," and "Wearable Art." Each project is coded to indicate the degree of difficulty. Directions for the hardest projects require a lot of ingenuity, as they are very general. Most of the crafts involve drawing and printing signs, pictures, etc., and then coloring them and/or cutting and pasting pieces together to create cards, jewelry, a mobile, games, magic tricks, etc. Bits of information about computers?their history, terminology, and use?are interspersed throughout. Most of these tidbits do not relate in any way to the craft or other information on the same page. Large line drawings of cartoon children and completed projects (often with measurements and partial directions hand-printed around them) create an appealing format. Often, projects require a certain amount of computer literacy (a note on e-mail instructs: "Access your server's e-mail mode"). The brief introduction provides some clues as to where drawing and painting tools might be located in computer software or in the hard drive, but no list of available drawing programs is included. Actually, most of these activities can be completed by artistically inclined children without a computer, and many similar projects can be found in other sources.?Susan Scheps, Shaker Heights Public Library, OH
