"Concrete Surrealism" is a phrase that conveys something of Jenkins' style. Students of poetry will not want to miss him, they'll want to pore over his remarkable art. Henry Berry, Small Press Book Review

Louis Jenkins was born in Oklahoma, but has lived in Minnesota for 47 years. He has published 17 collections of his poetry. He was a featured poet at the Geraldine R Dodge Festival and the Aldeburgh Poetry Festival. Jenkins is co-author with Mark Rylance of the play Nice Fish.
"The most complex things can be said in a few words...There are extraordinary images that can tell someone's whole life story. Jenkins shows us again and again that this is possible." Charles Simic --Boston Review
"Governing these poems is a voice implied by the text: even and steady, slow and careful, self-effacing yet everpresent...This voice creates a continuity that keeps the poems accessible on one level no matter how difficult their implication may be." Karl Young --American Book Review
