Poynter ( The Self-Publishing Manual ) and Bingham offer advice, much of it simplistic, to help would-be authors (in cluding people who aren't necessarily writers) to develop and publish a book. The authors use not only text and ex amples of successful ventures, but a va riety of charts (one shows how tasks might be apportioned among collabora tors) and tests (one of these to deter mine if you're really capable of doing the deed) to help the reader evaluate self, topic, and form, and provide the mechanics of authoring and publishing.
