The 1960 starting point for these bibliographical abstracts was chosen to coincide with the last references appearing in ASTM STP No. 90-E, "1960 Supplement to the Metal Cleaning Bibliographical Abstracts." This ASTM Metal Cleaning Bibliographical Abstract series3 covers the period 1842-1960, and our work has been organized as a continuation of that excellent work. We have retained the format and indexing system employed therein. The references are grouped according to year of publication (or issue of patent) and then organized alphabetically by author within each year. The references are numbered consecutively, and the indexes refer to the article reference number. NOTE: Reference numbers 206 through 499 have been committed.
