In 1985, on a hiatus from work on her Masters degree in Counseling, Terry Lynn Taylor became seriously interested in angels. She felt that the joy and lightness she experienced as a child growing up in Southern California had turned into seriousness and strain. It was then that she read the G. K. Chesterton quote, Angels can fly because they take themselves lightly. Contemplating this, she began to acknowledge the role angels play as spiritual helpers in our everyday life, and from that moment on, everything in her life changed.
She set out to find a book on angels that would help her attract the angels into her life. Unable to find the book she was looking for, she decided to write it herself. That effort became Messengers of Light. Terry has written four more books with H J Kramer, Guardians of Hope, Answers From the Angels, Creating With the Angels, and most recently The Alchemy of Prayer. Ms. Taylor has delighted readers worldwide with her profound, yet eminently practical wisdom. She is the best-selling author of seven books, which have sold more than 800,000 copies worldwide, and have been translated into nine foreign languages. She has appeared on national television in the NBC Prime Time Special, "Angels: The Mysterious Messengers, which was seen by over 35 million viewers.
Ms. Taylor publishes a quarterly newsletter about angels, and conducts classes and "playshops" to promote the advancement of angel consciousness. When she isn't writing, Terry Lynn Taylor likes to spend time in her garden getting to know the nature spirits. She currently resides in the foothills of Pasadena, California.
While Taylor (Angel Wisdom: 365 Meditations and Insights from the Heavens, LJ 6/1/94) honors the highest good in Christianity's oldest prayers and invites the discovery of truth found in the prayers of all religious traditions, she moves beyond the boundaries of prescribed prayer. Taylor suggests that prayer is not necessarily what we utter but what we become when we intentionally allow ourselves to be transformed by an attitude of prayer, whether we are practicing gratitude, paying attention to dreams, listening to music, showing kindness to another person, or appreciating the simple beauty of life. An open, inspiring discussion of a topic that often eludes adequate treatment. Recommended for seminary and public libraries.

The goal of a spiritual life is integration and wholeness. Prayer leads us to this point, because it doesnt simply work on the outer planes but starts to change us from within. The truth lives within us; its light shines from our core, from our heart. When we begin to feel comfortable with the inner dimensions of our being, then we will begin to feel truly whole. The journey within takes time, patience, hope, gratitude, and a personal understanding of the Great Creator. After we have gone within and transformed our own lead to gold, we will naturally come out into the light and share our love with the world while holding the pure intention in our hearts of helping God and the angels transform the lead of the worlds sorrow into hope and right living.
