About the Author

Ronald Warfield, a National Park Service career professional, was Chief Park Naturalist at Crater Lake for several years. Ron is a Colorado State University graduate in Forestry and Natural Resources. Lee Juillerat has written about Crater Lake for newspapers and magazines for many years. Larry Smith spent twenty years as a seasonal park ranger at Crater Lake and has collected and preserved much of the park's oral and written history.
