Reviews

With the exception of a drop-leaf harvest table, octagon planters, and maybe garden fences, the other four projects described in a chatty, first-person style would indeed require "county setting" property. The pond dock and truss bridge require water as well, while the small barn and saltbox shed are useful storage structures built of rough or unplaned air-dried lumber, which gives an early American look. With a mixture of text, drawings, and photographs, the construction directions, including materials lists, are adequate even for the novice carpenter. Recommended to those with browsers and do-it-yourselfers interested in this subject area. W. T. Johnston, Coastal Plain Regional Lib., Tifton, Ga.
