Hardcover. Condition: As New. Mitchell, Bartlett, Lawton, Tebbetts, Carpenter, Kinney and Hanson. Reprint 1979, originally Published 1908. Hardbound, green cloth with gilt lettering on spine, as new, two indexes (one for the census, one for the historical and narrative sections), Illus., 256 pages. The publisher writes, This is a 'Town Register' of Exeter and Hampton, New Hampshire in 1908, which also includes a business directory and other historical data. The 'census' includes: names of residents, non-resident family members, address, maiden names, children, and occupations. These 'Registers' were quite popular at the turn of the century and provide information that is frequently difficult, at best, to acquire by other means. Also included are advertisements of local businesses at the time, as well as a history of the area.
