Rutherford was born in Ormond, Ontario in 1857 and in 1905 in Alberta, just before the formation of the province, he was acting as the member of the territorial Legislative Assembly and as the solicitor for the Town of Strathcona. A few days later he was asked by Lieutenant-Governor Bulyea to form the first (Liberal) government of Alberta. His family residence has since been turned into an HISTORIC site. 135 pages, illus. by political cartoons and B/W archival photos. PLUS 55 pages of notes and index and bibliography. Cond: Tartan and green paper wrapper with a (seated) portrait of Rutherford (photo). Two maps at page 94 and 103. Minimal edge wear, no names, no marks. Bright, tight, clean,and square.
