From the foreword Maple Leaf Route: Falaise is the second volume in a new series on the Canadian campaign in Northwest Europe, 1944-1945. This volume contains the story of the planning of Allied and German strategy in the last month of the Normandy campaign as well as a detailed account of the battles fought by the Canadian along the road to Falaise. The text is complimented by contemporary photographs, War Art, a new series of maps oriented to illustrate the thrust of the Allied assault, and facsimiles of War Diaries from many Canadian Infantry regiments.
